23rd June 2001 - Railway Inn - Kirkpatrick Flemming

Is it really 3 years since we played here last? it really does not seem like it at all. Once again appearing at Charlie's local but this time to raise money for the senior citizens of the area. Somebody mentioned that there was going to be a bit of food from the bar-b-que for us, we ended up having half a buffalo each, excellent. These people were in party mood from the off and we were made to feel right at home. Just to remind you that this gig takes place in the pubs garage!! yes a garage and it was great. We had a lot of fun too starting with our first set which was scheduled to last 45 minutes....it lasted over an hour, the second was again meant to last 45 minutes...towards the end of the set we all felt as though we had short changed the punters as it was over so quickly...then we saw that we had played a TWO HOUR second set!!!! Thats 3 hours in all, we were enjoying ourselves alright that night.

27th June 2001 - St Augustines Club - Carlisle

This should have been one of the best gigs of the year for us. We had publicity by the bucketfull on TV, Radio, several local papers and so many posters that you would not believe. We were playing for a great charity, Carlisle's Eden Valley Hospice, the organisation was meticulous, the people very friendly, the venue looked ideal. So what went wrong??? The club had installed a sound activated cut off device which when the sound reached more than a cirtain level it killed the power to the stage on that very day thats what!! But, I hear you cry doesn't that mean you were too loud anyway? well NO is the answer, the device had been set to 87dB that roughly equates to someone shouting. Just the sound of Charlies snare drum, un-miked, was enough to trip the unit. After much delay and arguing the point the threshhold was raised and we did a very quiet gig. Unfortunately the show dies a death when the singer is constantly diverting his attention from the audience to the red light telling him that the power is going off. The average age in the audience was around 50-60 and this is the first time that we ever remember being asked to turn UP by people in this age group. Problems aside we had a good night and some excellent feedback from the audience but it's disapointing when you know that we could have given them a great show instead of an average one.

28th July 2001 - The Gray Goat - Bagrow

First time at this superb little pub set deep into North Cumbria. We were a bit apprehensive over what we were going to find but we need not have worried, it was great. A small stage made us feel at home and a delegation of our fans from Brampton made us even more at home. The pub was rocking big time by the end of the night and the requests for re-appearances were flowing before we had even finished our set.
